Home Sweet Home, Back in Chicago!

Friday, January 3, 2014

I'm so happy to be back in Chicago after two weeks at home in Michigan. My winter break was much needed and I loved spending time with my family, but I am so ready to finish one of my last quarters at DePaul!
The next couple weeks will be very bittersweet. Next weekend is our chapter's initiation and I'm so thrilled to welcome 38 women into our sisterhood! After initiation, I'll be passing the torch to my successor. Being executive board secretary are beyond rewarding and I will miss the position dearly, but I'm ready to pass on the responsibility! If you've been on your sorority's executive board, you know how hard it can be to leave your position and the other women you were serving with. But I have full confidence in our incoming executive board and I cannot wait to see all the great things they do!

Now it's time to unpack and catch up on snuggle time with Tilly!

  1. Back just as we get terribly cold weather.
Hope this semester is a good one for you.

  2. Transition Chapter was one of the most bittersweet moments of my college career! Handing down the torch to the next GM almost felt like I was giving her a piece of my heart! Our e-board celebrated an amazing term with margaritas and quesadillas! I suggest the same for y'all!!

  3. Transitions are always difficult! I'm so nervous for my chapter's Transitions this weekend, even though I only have a (relatively) small position! Still, I'm super pumped for the next lady to take over and hope I can guide her if she needs any help!

And, as Ashley W mentioned, I plan on having a drink after all's said and done!

  4. Transitioning my successor into my VP of Recruitment position was so so bittersweet! I wasn't ready to let the position go yet but now I am able to serve as a mentor for those women that hold the position after me!

Love the celebration with margaritas idea!
