Nashvile Weekend Trip Recap

Monday, March 28, 2016

As you might have seen on my Instagram a couple weeks ago, my fiancé Devin and I took a weekend trip to Nashville. We're been so stressed out from working long hours, wedding planning, and life in general, so we thought a trip down south would soothe our stressed out souls. Here's what we did on our quick weekend trip to Nashville!

We left Chicago bright and early on Friday and knew we wanted to make a stop in Indianapolis during our seven-hour journey. For lunch, we stopped at Milktooth - a quaint, hipster-esque diner with incredible coffee and food to match. We spilt a few entrees and downed some of their amazing espresso drinks.

After our stop in Indy, we powered through the rest of the drive to Nashville. We settled into our charming AirBnB, then had dinner at Sinema and drinks at a cool hidden bar called Old Glory

We woke up Saturday craving a hearty, southern diner breakfast and a big cup of espresso. We left our adorable AirBnB and found incredible lattes at ZolliKoffee. Then, Devin and I made our way to East Nashville and indulged on pancakes and waffles at Charlie Bob's.

After our big breakfast, we found a darling trendy antique shop called Old Made Good. We picked up some adorable souvenirs here! After our shopping trip, we made our way to Broadway, where we enjoyed some cold drinks and live country music. For lunch, we ventured to the famous Prince's for some Nashville hot chicken.

In desperate need of a walk in between lunch and dinner, we made our way to the Parthenon and Vanderbilt campus. We took a nice sunset walk through the park and even witnessed a proposal! After the sun finally set, it was time for dinner at Husk. Eating at Husk has been a on Devin's bucket list for a long time, and it was great to see one of his culinary dreams come true.

Sunday was our day to head back to the Windy City. Before we hit the road, we stopped at CREMA for yet another amazing latte. Our final stop on our southern adventure was Willet Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. We made it just in time for an afternoon distillery tour and a whisky tasting. As a couple who loves whisky and bourbon, we were in absolute heaven.

After our time on the Bourbon Trail, we made the long drive back to Chicago. Even though it was short, we made the most out of our Nashville vacation and couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
